Best Store Ever – Halloween Town in Burbank

Halloween Town Burbank

This weekend I had a double whammy of Halloween fun! First I attended the Son of Monsterpalooza. (Son of Monster…who?) Son of Monsterpalooza is the second massive monster convention of the year in the city of Burbank, CA. And since I was in the city of Burbank, it would be a crime not to visit the coolest Halloween store I’ve ever seen. I’m talking about the one and only “Halloween Town”.

Halloween Town has so much merchandise that they created two stores just a few buildings down from each other. One store has costumes, masks, make-up, wigs and anything else you could possibly need to create a costume. The other location (my favorite) has a treasure trove of Halloween props, artwork, toys, books, T-shirts, and a ton of other phenomenal goodies you wont find in any other Halloween store. The thing that separates this store from any other seasonal Halloween store is the quality of merchandise here is so exquisite. When I’m walking from room to room I sometimes feel like I’m in a museum. As you walk in you will see larger props like spooky signs, bloody walls, and gruesomely designed gravestones. Another room has lots of macabre books and monster artwork for sale. There’s another section that has a great selection of toys, boardgames and model kits from various favorites such as the Twilight Zone, The Munsters, and the classic Universal Monsters.

I was very close to buying a scale model kit of The Munsters Koach (family vehicle from the hit TV show). I did wind up buying a book all about The Munsters, an art poster of Bela Lugosi as Dracula, another of Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s monster, and three vintage filament light bulbs. It’s so hard not to spend money here, especially for a Halloween junkie like me! Visiting Halloween Town has become my newest October tradition and I already can’t wait to go back!

PS. The picture below is from Halloween Town’s window display! If that’s just the window display, you can just imagine what’s inside!
