Does this happen to you? You have a ton of creative ideas for Halloween projects but then the time just passes by so darn quickly. This year was no different for me. Although time flew by, I was determined to get at least one good Halloween DIY project completed before October 1st. Last year I built two tall creepy columns to frame my Halloween yard haunt and hide some of my lighting and audio gear. This year I wanted to complete that build and fully integrate them into the fence. What was missing was a dramatic Halloween cemetery gate entrance that I could attach to the columns and fence. After seeing the Nevermore gate on Netflix’s hit show Wednesday, I thought “That’s it! I’m building a gate this year”. In this article I’ll show you how I built my Halloween gate and share images of how it completely improved the look of my yard haunt The Ghoulie Graveyard.

The Halloween season is upon us yet again! Each year I try one or two new props to add to The Ghoulie Graveyard, my home yard haunt. This year I had started considering building two tall columns that would serve as a way to hide my lightning effects and electrical boxes. I didn’t know exactly how I was going to do it, but found lots of great ideas and inspiration online. At first I thought there was no way this was going to look good and it was for sure one of the most difficult builds I’ve done, but now that it’s finished I’m pretty pleased with the outcome. So I’ve made LED flickering candles and LED spotlights for my graveyard. Now what? At this point I’m scratching my head trying to figure out how to deliver electrical power to my new creations. To the internet I go! This time I found a great idea on how to make a 12 volt power supply from a member of the SoCal Valley Haunters Facebook group. It’s really pretty clever and helped me power up my entire graveyard scene. Keep reading to see how I did it.

So after I built my tombstones I started thinking that I should add flickering LED candles in front of them. I wanted them to look like church candles that have been burning for awhile.
