Frankenstein 200: a bicentennial celebration of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein
In every city and town in America there are scores of unique Halloween events during the month of October. As I was throwing out some of my never-ending junk mail I saw an upcoming event that looks really cool. This year El Camino Community College in Torrance California will be celebrating the bicentennial celebration of Mary Shelley’s masterpiece Frankenstein in an event called Frankenstein 200. There will be music, panel discussions, an art exhibit, a screening of the 1931 classic film and even a ghost story writing contest! Sounds like a blast! Highlights From Monsterpalooza 2016
I’ve gotta admit I just love monster conventions! Especially the big one called Monsterpalooza, a convention created to celebrate the art of monsters and movie magic. Monsters And Steampunk Unite
I must admit, I am a big fan of Steampunk art! When I learned that there was a company that has combined steampunk with monsters, you bet I was interested! The company is called Steam Crow and it is run by two artists, a husband and wife team, who create books, comics, art, and other fun products inspired by monsters. I came across their booth at a comic convention and was really blown away by the quality and imagination of their art prints. As I started to research what Steam Crow had to offer, I was pleasantly surprised by the various projects they had cooking in the creative kitchen! Continue reading
Son of Monsterpalooza Convention 2013
Burbank, Ca is quickly becoming my favorite destination for all things creepy. Last weekend I attended Southern California’s semi-annual monster convention called Son of Monsterpalooza.
